Iv decided to start a series of topics about things that i just love, it was the brain child of my wonderful husband Mars who encouraged me to start a "LuCy LoVeS series". Easter is upon us and finally we all get a small break in our year to spend with family and loved ones.With Johannesburg being so cold and rainy at the moment its the perfect time for all us girls to pull out our winter best and strut your stuff. Winter months are really my best time of year fashion wise, finally you can layer up and look fab while doing it.
Iv noticed a couple designers mixing things up with the standard winter boot, Last season it was all about the knee high flat soled embellished boot and this season we are breaking away from the feminine and introducing a military hard edge look that kinda reminds me of the classic dock martin phase. Either way i think both are great, and with the right accessories, a chunky scarf and some sexy boots, you could make a potato sack look sexy. Guys dont think you cant rock the winter boot as much as the girls do, mens combat boots are what inspired the womans military look in the first place, so please feel free to rock out your childhood army man dreams!
Earth tones seem to be making a huge statement this winter, with the lumo trend slowly falling away as the summer months come to a close, warm browns, off whites and rich greens are quickly filling up the shelves in the boutiques and department stores. Big statement pieces like bows and flowers are also a huge hit right now, so get out there and go GAGA for trendy accessory pieces!
Lets make the most of the winter trends and the icy cold days. It doesnt have to cost you an arm and a leg either, places like Mr price, Edgars and Woolies are all stocking up on the perfect winter fashion combos.
